Anlin comes up a lot when Sonoma homeowners start pricing replacement windows. It's a vinyl window built in California, in Clovis in the Central Valley, by a company that focuses on replacement work and markets its windows on energy performance and warranty coverage. For a house in the Sonoma Valley, where summer afternoons run long and hot and many rooms face vineyard or hillside light, that combination deserves a close look. Bay Area Siding Company installs Anlin windows on Sonoma homes. We're a Larkspur-based (Marin) siding and window contractor working throughout the North Bay wine country. This page explains what Anlin does well, where it's a weaker fit, and how it compares to the other brands we install, so you can decide before anyone measures an opening.

Most homeowners who ask about Anlin have one of three reasons.
It's a vinyl window built for replacement. Anlin's lineup is designed around swapping out old windows in existing homes, not only new construction. That fits the Sonoma houses we see most often: ranch and mid-century homes east and north of downtown still running original single-pane aluminum or wood sash, and older valley houses whose windows have been painted shut for years.
Energy performance is central to the product. Anlin puts efficiency at the center of its product pitch. On a Sonoma home, the practical benefit is a dual-pane insulated glass package with a Low-E coating. That coating cuts the afternoon solar heat and glare that make west- and south-facing rooms uncomfortable, and it holds warmth in on cold winter nights. California's Title 24 energy code sets the U-factor and solar heat gain targets replacement windows must meet. Those targets vary by climate zone and change from one code cycle to the next, so we confirm the current values for your address at permit time instead of quoting numbers here.
The warranty is a major selling point. Anlin backs its windows with limited-lifetime coverage that includes glass breakage. Terms vary by product and by who owns the home, so we go over the actual warranty document for the line you choose rather than summarizing it from memory.
Anlin offers several product lines at different price and feature levels, including Catalina and Del Mar. The differences come down to frame construction, available glass packages, and styles such as sliders, single-hungs, casements, and picture windows. Features and options change over time, so we compare the current lines at your consultation, based on how each opening in your house actually works. A bedroom slider and a large fixed pane framing a view of the western hills may call for different choices.
Anlin isn't the right window for every Sonoma house, and here is where it falls short:
Where Anlin fits well is a ranch, tract, or mid-century Sonoma home where the goals are comfort, lower maintenance, and good value for the money. That describes a large share of the houses in town.
Fire exposure is a real concern in the Sonoma Valley. The 2017 Nuns Fire burned through the surrounding valley and hills. In 2025, Cal Fire updated its statewide maps, and the City of Sonoma's revised Fire Hazard Severity Zone map now shows expanded High and Very High areas, with the heavier designations concentrated toward the hills and wildland edges.
If your parcel carries one of those designations, California Building Code Chapter 7A can govern the exterior glazing on regulated openings. In practice, that generally means an altered opening needs multi-pane glazing with at least one tempered pane, along with the other assembly requirements the code lists. Whether Chapter 7A applies depends on your parcel's designation and on whether the work counts as a repair or an alteration. It covers specific openings, not automatically every window in the house. Before ordering, we confirm with the City of Sonoma what your openings require. We then specify the Anlin glass configuration to meet it, or recommend another product if a particular opening needs one.
We start by walking the house. We check every opening, note which frames and surrounds are sound and which show rot or water staining, and talk through styles and glass.
The next decision is the installation method:
If siding is also on your list, doing both together lets us integrate flashing correctly around each opening. See our Sonoma siding replacement page.
After that, we handle the permit, order the windows, and install and seal each unit to Anlin's specifications. We finish with a walkthrough so you know how each window operates and what the warranty covers.
Window replacement within city limits is permitted through the City of Sonoma Building Division. The Division adopts the current California Building Standards Code and moved to the 2025 edition effective January 1, 2026. Replacement windows are regulated fenestration, so a Title 24 energy-compliance form is typically part of the submittal. We prepare the paperwork and confirm the requirements for your specific address.
We don't post prices, because two Sonoma homes with the same number of windows can price very differently. The main cost drivers are:
A walkthrough is how we produce an accurate number. To see how Anlin compares with other brands, start at our window replacement hub or the Anlin overview. For the broader local picture, read the Sonoma window replacement page. To see finished work, visit our projects gallery.
Is Anlin a good choice for a hot Sonoma summer? It can be a strong one. A dual-pane Anlin window with a Low-E glass package is designed to reduce solar heat gain, which is the main source of discomfort in sun-exposed valley rooms. We match the glass package to each window's exposure and confirm that it meets current Title 24 requirements for your address.
My home is near the hills. Can I still use Anlin vinyl windows? Often, yes. It depends on your parcel's fire-hazard designation and your project's scope. Where Chapter 7A applies, the glazing on regulated openings generally needs multi-pane units with at least one tempered pane. We confirm the requirements with the City of Sonoma and specify the windows to meet them before ordering.
Are you an Anlin dealer? We install Anlin windows. We don't claim any authorized or certified dealer status. What we offer is a complete installation, from permitting through flashing and a final walkthrough, with Anlin's own product warranty explained up front.
Would Anlin suit a Victorian near the Plaza? It depends on your priorities and any preservation constraints on the property. For homes where historic character matters most, we usually show clad-wood options alongside Anlin so you can compare the look directly.
